What is expected of our Fine Arts Academy Students?
While we are a comprehensive High School, our Fine Arts Academy allows for students to take a broad breadth of arts-based classes that go beyond the traditional scope of high school offerings. All students at McCallum High School have access to our state- and nationally-renowned arts faculty. Our Fine Arts Academy students have offerings that are either specifically for Majors and/or advance them to an upper-level course before others in the same grade-level. The Fine Arts Academy also gives students outside of the McCallum attendance zone to be able to transfer to our school. While we offer the ability to transfer, we are not a true Magnet School, which means we are unable to offer bussing from around Austin ISD. Fine Arts Academy students are also often expected to "double-block" certain courses, which gives them even more exposure to their art. Below are our 4-Year Graduation Plans and Major Contracts that list the breadth of expectations of our Academy students.
