McCallum Fine Arts Academy Application Checklist

1. Google Form Application

  • Action: Complete the McCallum Fine Arts Academy Google Form Application by January 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
  • Requirements:
    • Demographics
    • 4 short answer questions
    • Report Card for Previous Grade Level (2024-2025; upload required for NON-AISD students)
    • Report Card for Current Grade Level (Fall Semester 2025; upload required for NON-AISD students)
    • Proof of Residence (upload required)
    • Acknowledgements

2. Teacher Recommendations

  • Action: Have teachers complete the Teacher Recommendations Form.
  • Requirements:
    • One recommendation from an Academic Class.
    • One recommendation from a Fine Arts Class.
    • Note: If students are new to Fine Arts, two recommendations from Academic Classes will be accepted.
  • Instructions: Students should share the link with their chosen teachers. Teachers must be logged into their school email to access the form.

3. Auditions

  • Requirement: Auditions are REQUIRED (see requirements listed here). You apply and audition for a maximum of 2 majors. 
  • Major Specifics:
    • Dance: Individual pre-recorded submissions are due January 19th (midnight); group auditions by invitation on January 25th.
    • Visual Arts: Held on 1/24 and 1/30 (Portfolio due at that time).
    • Band, Choir, and Color Guard: Held on January 24th.
    • Performance Theater: In-person auditions are held on January 24th, with a video submission due January 30th.
    • Technical Theater: Auditions are held on January 24th; the project requirement is due at that time.
    • Cinematic Arts: Video submissions are due January 25th; in-person auditions are held January 31st.
    • Orchestra: Auditions are held on January 25th.
    • Guitar and Piano: Auditions are held on January 31st.

5. Priority Registration (Enroll Austin)

  • Action: Parents must complete priority registration through Enroll Austin.
  • Deadline: Must be completed by February 6th.
  • Important: Students who do not complete this by the deadline cannot be accepted to the Academy.
  • Required Documents:
    • Valid parent/guardian Driver’s License.
    • Mortgage statement or lease.

6. Audition Sign-ups

  • Notification: Links to auditions sign-ups will only be sent to the email provided in the McCallum Fine Arts Academy Google Form Application only, these will not be sent out based on the Interest Form.  Sign-ups will begin going out early next week for those who have submitted their completed application.
